Objectives
- To cover teaching and research needs in the fields of gender in social policy and policy analysis of gender equality at the international, European, national and local level.
- Covering the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research needs of the Department, as well as the needs of other academic units of the Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences, in subjects that are related to those of the Centre.
- Collaborating with other Greek or foreign research centres and academic institutions, as long as their scientific goals coincide, are compatible and complement those of the Centre.
- Organizing scientific lectures, meetings, seminars, symposiums, conferences and other scientific events, as well as issuing publications etc.
Research and results
- Ge.M.IC research Project-Gender, Migration and Intercultural Interactions in South-East Europe and the Mediterranean (2008-2011).
- Combating Trafficking in Women for Labour Exploitation in Domestic Work (about 2015). Book publication available in the website.
- HR in Practice. Human Rights as a part of language training to prevent HRV and harmful practices in the communities (HR in Practice) (2016-2017).
- Universities Supporting Victims of Sexual Violence (USVSV): Training for Sustainable Student Services which is funded by the European Commission (Brunel University London, 2016-2018).
- Active Strategies for Prevention and Handling Sexual Harrassment Incidents-Astrapi EU Project (2019-2022).
The Centre has been the leader and coordinating institute of two European research projects:
- Gender, Migration and Intercultural Interactions in the Mediterranean and South East Europe: An Interdisciplinary Perspective (Ge.M.IC.) and Transnational Digital Networks, Migration and Gender (MIG@NET) during the period 2008-2013.
