Objectives

  • Create sensitivity about women’s issues and carry out advocacy activities.
  • Disseminate information about national and international research on women’s issues.
  • Conduct research on areas parallel to our objectives.
  • Promote educational activities.
  • Integrate gender issues into activities and programs.
  • Support the studies/activities conducted by other gender-oriented programs.
  • To participate in:
    • The organization of national and international courses, seminars, conferences, congresses, and symposiums.
    • Educational activities to motivate students to engage in gender issues.
    • The preparation of publications.
    • The organization of a library literature center specific to gender issues.
    • A communication network between national and international organizations to publicize the work of women’s organizations and institutions.
    • The provision of support and counseling to relevant institutions.

  • Analysis of the 1998 Turkish Demographic and Health Survey à reanalyzed to evaluate contraception, abortion and maternal health services in Turkey.
  • Study on Factors Influencing the Sexual and Reproductive Health of Adolescents/Young Adults in Turkey (2000-2002).
  • Evaluation of the SRH Knowledge, Views and Behavior of University Seniors at HU’s Beytepe Campus (2001-2002).
  • An Intervention Study to Provide Sexual and Reproductive Health Services for Students at University Healthcare Centers, and an Evaluation of Its Impact (2002-2005).
  • A Case Study on the Integration of Gender Sensitivity into Turkish Health Policy (2006).
  • Health Behaviors Through a Gender Perspective: A Project Conducted in Saraycık Village, Sincan District, Ankara.
